Their mission is to honor and embrace the identity and experiences of Pasadena Unified School District’s African American families, advocate for the cultural acceptance of all, and mobilize and engage all stakeholders to transform the system to ensure a high-quality education for every student.

This event spotlights Mr. Sean Taitt, who is known for his unwavering commitment to nurturing the growth of those around him. Mr. Taitt comes to us with a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting future generations through higher education. Prior to his role as Director of Field Education for Pacific Oaks College's Bachelor's in Social Work Program, he made a significant impact at the University of Southern California as the co-creator and program director of a successful literacy-based initiative as well as two community-focused programs.

This event spotlights Dr. Norma Spencer, Director of the Center of Black Student Excellence at Long Beach Unified School District. With 28 years of experience, Dr. Spencer is a transformative leader dedicated to advancing educational equity and Black student achievement. She has led initiatives in academic support, college readiness, and community engagement to create lasting change. Her leadership is rooted in advocacy, mentorship, and systemic change. She is passionate about developing culturally responsive programs, fostering student success, and building strong connections between families, schools, and communities.
