Equation 2 Success was founded in 2019 by Dr. KiMi Wilson, a visionary educator committed to transforming the educational landscape. Dr. Wilson's passion for innovation in education was fueled by the challenges faced by children in outdated learning environments, particularly the Black and Brown second-grade students he taught in the Compton Unified School District. His early experiences, shaped by a supportive upbringing in a working middle-class Black family, instilled in him a deep sense of community and a drive to challenge biases within the education system.

While balancing his roles as a teacher and a graduate student, Dr. Wilson built a distinguished career across various schools and districts, developing cutting-edge curricula and spearheading diversity initiatives in engineering at higher education institutions. Despite achieving tenure-track status at Cal State LA, he felt a calling to do more. Motivated by the inspiration of his former students, Dr. Wilson founded Equation 2 Success with the mission to revolutionize learning and create a brighter future for the next generation.
